Secretary of State to Make Personal Appearance
Registrar of Voters to Continue Successful MyBallot Student Election Program


Santa Ana, CA October 6, 2008 – The Orange County Registrar of Voters office will be providing a live videocast of the General Election launch of their MyBallot election program for high school students on October 8, 2008.  California Secretary of State Debra Bowen will be making a special appearance to participate in the on-going successful program.  The event will be held at Anaheim High School .  

The Registrar of Voters’ unique program, MyBallot, is a comprehensive 3-step series which includes in-class lessons on the history of voting, creating ballots and vote tabulation. The powerful curriculum builds on students’ skills in English, Math and Civics.  

The agenda for the event includes remarks by the Secretary of State, Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley. Students will join the Secretary of State on a tour of the Registrar of Voters’ mobile voting unit that will be at the school.
