Santa Ana, CA May 20, 2008 – California Secretary of State Debra Bowen will be making a special appearance Thursday, May 22nd to participate in the launch of Orange County’s MyBallot student election program.
The Registrar
of Voters’ unique program, MyBallot, is a comprehensive
3-step series which includes in-class lessons on the history
of voting, creating ballots and vote tabulation. The powerful
curriculum builds on students’ skills in English, Math and
Civics.
The agenda
for the event includes remarks by the Secretary of State,
Registrar of Voters and school officials before hundreds of
students, a tour of the Registrar of Voters’ mobile voting
unit and voting by approximately 1,500
