Santa Ana, CA October 23, 2008 – The Orange County Registrar of Voters will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2008 to allow new citizens the ability to register and vote for the November 4, 2008 Presidential Election.
New citizens that were sworn in after the Registration deadline (October 20, 2008) may only register and vote from October 23rd to October 28th and only at the Registrar of Voters office for the November election. New citizens must bring proof of citizenship and declare that they are California residents.
“It is the greatest thing to watch someone register and vote for the first time,” said Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley. “We are happy to stay open so that new citizens have the opportunity to vote for the first time,” he continued.
