June Election Just Around the Corner

The 2010 election cycle will be very busy here in Orange County. If you have not already volunteered we hope you will consider working in June. This is the most difficult time of the year to recruit poll workers and we count on your support. You’ll find helpful information in this newsletter on important poll worker information. New Training Video for 2010!

We recently completed shooting our new poll worker training. The video has been simplified and will be easier to watch as it covers all of the important Election Day information at a good pace and in half the time. The training video is a critical tool for understanding how voting should be conducted in a poll site. In addition to our new training video we have produced a quick reference video that will come with each supply box for Inspectors to use before election morning.

Election Survey Results

Six customer service surveys are distributed during each election, including the Election Day Survey and Training Survey,. During the 72nd Assembly District Special General Election, 99% of poll workers felt that their team understood and performed their Election Day duties, cooperated well, and processed voters efficiently. Your continual feedback is important to us and we make regular changes based on your direct input. You can read the full survey report by clicking here.

Introducing the Poll Worker PASS Program

There will be a lot of information coming out on our new Poll Worker PASS program in the next few months. We began this ambitious project 12 months ago as a way to streamline our poll worker operations and save the County money. This new system will allow poll workers to access their election information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through a secure online account. Think of it as “online banking” for our poll workers – more details to come soon.
