San Juan Capistrano Election Certified

Election Certified in Less Than 24 Hours

Yesterday we certified the results of the Special Municipal Election held in San Juan Capistrano. Measure B was a choice for voters between two different developments. 33.7% of the city's voters voted (representing 6,683 voters). The measure passed with 55.8% of the vote. Shown at left is the Outpost Clubhouse - one of 15 poll sites we operated on Tuesday.

Computer Aided Dispatch Test Complete

On Tuesday we partnered with the Orange County Sheriff's Department to utilize the same dispatching software used by the department. We tracked our Rapid Response Teams as they were dispatched to election related issues. We will be analyzing the data collected and how the system functioned and build a plan to use on a countywide election.

Election Supplies Sorted in One Night

Using our automated conveyors (shown at left) we sorted all returning election supplies from San Juan Capistrano in one night. In the past it would take days (sometimes weeks on a large election). This process is now complete in one evening - saving time and money. This also shortens our certification window in a large election. We are the only county in the country to sort supplies like this.

A Statewide September Election? It's Possible

The deadline to call an election for September is next Friday, June 17th. If there were to be an election in September it would take place on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 (the election cannot take place the day after a state holiday, which would eliminate September 6th). Despite the deadline the Legislature could push the deadlines forward, shortening our printing timelines.
